Isaiah 30:21

The player on the court does not ask the coach how he wants each pass and each shot and each dribble to be done.  Instead, he relies on the teaching and the training (best in repetition) imparted to him by the coach during practice, time spent by the player to conform his approach to the game and skills within the game, to inform his every move within the game itself.  The player does not ask the coach, because he, in the moment of action, of application, of testing, does not need to.  The player does what is done as the coach would have him do it, with confidence, not in the perfection of his actions (he does not have it), but in the knowledge that trained, instinctive action is best and only possible by remaining close in spirit to the heart of the coach's strategy both for the game at hand and for the playing of the game as a discipline.

And so it is for those of us who claim Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.  It is foolish to think that it is wisdom to ask God to approve our every move in life, going to God for answers as one might go to an ATM for cash.

Instead, focus not on His Will, but rather, focus on His Presence.

Be near to God, and you will know His Will as much as He would have you know it.  Knowing God's character informs our thoughts and actions.

Live by Godly instinct as trained by God through the guiding of His Spirit in scripture, prayer and fellowship.

Don't be fooled in thinking that praying constantly for God to tell you what to do is anything other than a power play for the kind of control we simply cannot have.

It's about faithful obedience.  Not morally dressed divination.

Still, with that said, in everything, go to God in prayer.  ;)
